Students participate in community visits to supermarkets, local shops and cafes, sports facilities, including the gym and swimming baths, community gardens and theatres. 

During such visits students learn how to use local amenities, develop life skills such as handling and using money, communication when ordering food or asking where products are within the supermarket, recognition of signs within shops and leisure facilities eg male/female toilet, keeping safe in the community and developing independence skills.
