Soundbeam

Soundbeam is an award-winning ‘touch free’ sound device which uses sensor technology to translate body movement into music and sound. It gives children and adults the opportunity, regardless of their impairments or disability, to play music individually or as a member of a group.

At Fairfield School pupils across the whole school have access to Soundbeam provision. The Soundbeam is used as a 1:1 learning opportunity and a group event. Individual sessions provide the pupils with personalised learning time to explore making sound through the cause and effect of singular and multiple sensory pads and even the smallest movement. Progress is recorded through a combination of personal learning logs, photographic and video evidence.
